We now have the chance to unchain Idaho from Common Core!
Are you and your family aware of the decisions your legislators are making on your behalf for our children’s education here in Idaho?
Earlier this year, the 2020 Idaho Content Standards Committee was established by the State Department of Education with the assignment to review Idaho’s Content Standards (a.k.a. Common Core) and recommend a replacement.
Tomorrow, September 9, 2020, at 9 a.m., the third public meeting of this committee will be held. We urge you to attend this meeting! They will be discussing specific problems with the current standards and advocating for changes to improve education standards in our state. The agenda for this important meeting can be found HERE. If you are unable to attend the meeting in person, you can stream the meeting from the comfort of your home by clicking HERE.
Senator Steven Thayn and Representative Gary Marshall, committee co-Chairs, need to hear from YOU and other families across Idaho. It will only take a moment, so please email Chairman Marshall at email@example.com and Chairman Thayn at firstname.lastname@example.org with your concerns.
Dedicated Idahoans have been hard at work trying to eject common core from Idaho for years. Now is the time to make sure our legislators hear us loud and clear! Now is the time for them to take action and make a real difference for education in Idaho! They can no longer wait and put it off, our children and Idaho’s future depends on it.
